Despite the efforts of the current administration to get rid of the Affordable Care Act, as of November 1st the enrollment period has opened up. Unfortunately the Trump administration has slashed budgets for advertising in order to sabotage the ACA, so many people may be unaware that the enrollment period has begun. The enrollment period ends December 15, 2017, which is a change from the previous deadline. While the deadline for the Healthcare.gov marketplace is in December, California's marketplace has a different deadline. For the Covered California marketplace, the deadline for 2018 coverage is January 31, 2018. Make sure you mark your calendars if you need to renew your coverage. Since the Trump administration isn't going to advertise, we need to take it upon ourselves to spread the word so that those in need do not lose coverage. For more information about coverage visit either Healthcare.gov or Covered California.
